I love baking as the cold sets in. It makes the darker nights seem a bit more bearable when the oven is hot and the smell of baking fills the room. This month’s brownie subscription box included two warming bakes, perfect for the colder nights.
Salted Pretzel Blondies
I think there’s something really comforting about sweet & salty bakes. I love the way that the salt compliments the sweetness. Pretzels are often found at Christmas markets, so I though these salted pretzel blondies were the perfect treat as the weather turns colder. My signature fudgey white chocolate blondies, swirled with homemade salted caramel and topped with mini salted pretzels. They went down a treat and I had lots of lovely messages of people loving them.
Gingerbread Chocolate Brownies
With Christmas just around the corner, there’s so many special chocolates out in the shops. Gingerbread is the perfect flavour for this time of year and these brownies could have been eaten as they were or warmed up and served with custard for a real warming pud. My rich and fudgey chocolate brownie recipe, topped with Cadbury dairy milk chocolate and gingerbread matchmakers.
